Continuous water softener " Iceberg"
Purpose: removal of hardness salts from water.
Construction: filter housing of 2 pieces, automatic control valve of continuous action, ion-exchange resin for two housings, supporting gravel layer for two housings, drainage and distribution system for two housings, reagent tank.
Operating principle: based on the sodium-cationization method. As a result of ion exchange, Ca2+ and Mg2+ cations are removed from the water and the water is enriched with Na+ ions according to the reactions. The regenerating capacity of the resin is restored by passing NaCl sodium salt solution through the ion exchange resin. As a result, the equilibrium of the above reactions is reversed. The hardness cations removed during regeneration are discharged into the sewage system.
Requirements for the source water:
- total hardness not more than 20 mmol/l;
- total salt content not more than 1000 mg/l;
- color not more than 30 degrees;
- hydrogen sulfide and sulfides absence;
- free active chlorine not more than 1 mg/l;
- permanganate oxidizability not more than 6.0 mg/l;
- petroleum products are absent;
- suspended substances not more than 5 mg/l;
- general iron not more than 0.5 mg/l;
- temperature 5-35°C.
