1. What a dosing station is used for
A dosing system is a complete system that specializes in the delivery of chemicals for water filtration. There can be a variety of impurities in the composition of the source water. Some are removed by chemical-free methods. Some compounds can only be removed with chemicals. These can be colloidal compounds, heavy metals, decay products and other contaminants. Not only drinking water, but also technical water is subject to filtration. A separate category can be allocated wastewater. If in the domestic sector, the presence of a large concentration of impurities depends on the composition of water itself. In the industrial segment, such water can be formed during the operation of the enterprise.
Water filtration is necessary in both domestic and industrial conditions. As for the production, in addition to the main purification, filtration of wastewater before discharge is mandatory. The use of reagents during treatment must be strictly dosed. So as not to change the characteristics of the water and not to create new compounds. Therefore, special equipment for dosing is installed. For industry, the use of reagents is practically a prerequisite. First of all, it is a matter of performance. When purifying with chemicals, the filtration rate increases significantly. But it is important to precisely observe the required amount of substance supply. Therefore, the dosing station is a mandatory equipment for effective water treatment.
Such devices are able to control the flow of chemicals and feed them into the water stream. The dose is calculated based on the volume of the filtered liquid and its composition. Accurate supply of the reagent increases the efficiency of purification. In addition, the human factor is eliminated. Working with chemicals in any case is dangerous and requires compliance with certain safety rules. Installing a dosing system will help eliminate negative health effects and errors in the filtration process.
In addition to the basic function of feeding chemicals, the system can perform other tasks. For example, some types of chemicals need to be kept at a certain temperature at all times. Some need to be pre-dissolved. All these tasks can be handled by the dosing system. Moreover, all actions are fully automated.
2. Types of stations
Stations are made in different variants. They can be flow, storage and concentrate. They are used both in industrial water treatment systems and in the household sector. They differ in design and the tasks they perform.
Flow-through systems are similar in design to a vessel divided into a number of parts. The first compartment performs the function of pre-treatment by dissolving the reagent. The second compartment prepares the solution in specified proportions. Through the third compartment, the resulting solution enters the water. The system allows you to work at high capacity and clean a fairly large volume of liquid at a time. It is most often used in industrial plants.
Accumulation systems consist of several flask modules. They are combined together. The number of connected tanks depends on the manufacturer. The first tank performs half of the functions of flow devices. That is, the preparation and mixing of the reagent for further supply takes place there. The second tank is a spare and serves for transferring the concentrate. This type of system is designed specifically for working with toxic elements. The body of the flask is resistant to the aggressive chemical effects of substances. Such equipment has an above-average performance.
Concentrate systems are used to control reagents. More precisely their concentration in water. In case of non-compliance with the proportions, an alert is sent, signaling the need to add chemicals. After all, if the reagents in the water will be less than the prescribed norm, the efficiency of cleaning will drop significantly.
Each type of station can be used both in the household and industrial segments. Depends on the purpose and the reagents used. The variety of systems on the market makes it possible to choose a dosing station based on purpose, performance and functionality. The dosing pumps play a special role in the selection. Their capacity also determines the speed at which the substance is delivered to the water stream.

3. Dispensing modes for household use
In addition to the different types of dosing systems, they are categorized by mode. For each production area, a different configuration is used. In principle, all systems have the same function of dosing reagents. But they can additionally solve other tasks in the filtration process.
Proportional dosing is used to change the acid-alkaline balance. For example, when treating water from iron, the acidification of the medium is a very important process. Proportional dosing is more effective when using feed filters. Reagents such as manganese, sodium hypochlorite and many others are added.
The equipment includes a dosing unit, water flow sensor, valves, dosing tank. The sensor, which monitors the water flow rate, sends a signal to the pump and the pump starts supplying reagents. The dosage depends on pre-set values.
All equipment must comply with standards and have special certificates and test reports. They are necessarily pre-tested for the efficiency of the working process and the absence of failures.
Pulse water sensor externally can be different. But almost always has a display and additional memory. Dosing is performed in two modes. Either on a continuous basis, or periodic. It is possible to set up for manual control.
Such a station is very convenient to use, since it has a high performance. The body should be anticorrosive and immune to any aggressive substances. It can work at top speed for up to 6 hours in a row.
Adjustable dosing is used when it is necessary to change the capacity. That is, sensors detect water quality and change the output. The reagent injection dose depends on the technical components of the liquid at the current time. This is useful when the water composition is constantly changing.

As previously stated, the equipment of each system may vary. However, it necessarily includes a standard metering pump. It is necessary for accurate supply of chemicals to water. Tank for dosing. It contains an already ready solution for feeding. Pulse counter, which signals the pump to start working. In addition, the system may include a liquid level sensor, additional accessories to increase the efficiency of cleaning. The kit also includes hoses. The system is fully equipped and ready for installation.
All elements are combined into one system for correct and accurate dosing. The material of the housing must comply with water treatment standards. Prevent corrosion and reagents. Do not release any formations into the water and do not change its composition.

5. Conclusions
The possibility of using dosing stations in all spheres of life makes it especially universal. Such devices allow to solve many tasks and have enough advantages. Produce accurate dosing, the possibility of presetting and fully automatic process. Easy to operate.
All dosing systems are tested at a high level. Mistakes are unacceptable in this field. Chemicals are very aggressive and can cause irreparable damage if used incorrectly or in excessive concentrations. Equipment installation and commissioning should be entrusted to professionals. The first adjustment is carried out before the start of operation. The time and rate of dosing depends on the initial water composition and characteristics.
In order for the system to work smoothly, it is necessary to comply with all the rules of operation and service. Each system has its own service life and inspection requirements. All characteristics are specified in the technical data sheet of the equipment. It is recommended to contact a specialist to check the system.
